NDIS Renewal

Completing the NDIS Commission Renewal Process

To maintain your registration under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), you must renew your Certificate of Registration every three years before your registration period ends. The renewal process can begin as early as six months before the expiration date and must start no later than three months before the expiration date.

The NDIS re-registration process is comprehensive and involves two main stages:

  • Stage 1 Audit: This is a desk-top audit conducted off-site to assess your readiness for certification. It involves a thorough review of your documentation and processes to ensure they meet the NDIS Practice Standards.
  • Stage 2 Audit: This typically takes three months and includes on-site audits for service providers offering registration groups or services that require a Certification audit. During this stage, auditors will visit your premises to verify compliance with the NDIS Practice Standards through interviews, observations, and additional documentation reviews.

For NDIS providers offering lower-risk registration groups or services, a single Verification audit is conducted off-site. Both Certification and Verification audits are performed by NDIS accredited quality auditors who compare the evidence you provide to the relevant modules of the NDIS Practice Standards.
